Shrubtse, March 21, 2009: One of the pioneer and oldest educational institutions of the country, the Sherubtse College in Trashigang will shortly have its own FM radio though Royal University of Bhutan is yet to introduce journalism in its curriculum.
The campus will be the first in Bhutan to host a radio station, which will start in April. To note, there are only three private FM radio stations in the country, all located in Thimphu.
The Shertse FM will have educational and entertainment programs. Founded by a former student from the same college Namgyel Dorji, programs for FM radio will be managed and produced by the students themselves. About 15 students have already been enlisted to work with the FM radio.
Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA) approved the license of the FM station in March first week and is funded by UNICEF.
Owners say the radio would act as catalyst to educate students on democracy and their role in it.

Sanju Kid
If you can write and participate in this forum I assume you are matured enough and do not force me to address you as Sanju kid. So when you can write I believe that you also can Read. So before pointing finger and casting your doubt or immature thoughts on Sherubtians being responsible for the movement based on your hearsay as you put it, please do some readings as preliminary homework to substantiate your allegations. Was any of your elders (whom you believe) there at Sherubste at the time when we were targeted? The institution responsible for our misfortunes is none other than the RGOB. Agree!
Hi sanju,
Not only Siki and Roshan were in sherubtse, I too was in sherubtse. Is it a crime to be at sherubtse when the problem started in bhutan? We were in the college and we never went all the way from Tashigang to all the southern districts to instigate the villagers to raise the flag. Why are you so jealous of our degree. We are not selfish that is why we form organisations and associations to develop unity and work for the welfare of all.Actually you people constructed a wall on our way to heaven and turned us to hell. Had you people (gaow ka thutae thula bada) not raised the flag we would have taken different mode and our struggle would have achive success and we would have been officers in Bhutan like our class-mates. It has become a curse to be born among people like you.
Sanju I felt sorry for you. You have literally killed 18 years without doing any thing. Forget about your service for the society, you have not done to your own self and is shown by your language. Still it is not too late, you can do it. please attain some more ESL classes.
