Bhutanese in Germany extend support to fire victims

Kathmandu, January 01: A group of eight exiled Bhutanese staying in Germany has extended support to fire victims in Beldangi-I camp.

Bhutan People's Party (BPP) distributed that aid to fire victims in the camp on Monday amidst a special function. According to president of BPP Balaram Poudel, the aid was handed over to the fire victims by Jagirman Lama, vice president of hte party. 

Poudel, over a telephone conversation, informed that at least 77 pieces of woolen blankets and 30 pieces of hats were distributed to the fire victims. Meanwhile, the party also distributed a set of woolen blankets to Prem Nath Dhungana of Beldangi-II, G/1-101 whose situation was reported to be most vulnerable.

Poudel also expressed gratitude to exiled Bhutanese staying in Germany who contributed to fire victims. "BPP remains indebted towards their continued support for vulnerable people in camps during such an emergency period", said Poudel, adding that the party had expected similar support in the days to come.

The camp secretary of Beldangi-I T. B. Gurung has also expressed gratitude to those who contributed from Germany.

Those contributing aid to fire victims from Germany include Makar Gurung, Tej Man Rayaka, Mitra Bahadur Bhandari, Chandra Sunwar, Durga Giri, Surendra Ghale, Kharilal Gurung, and Devendra Gautam.
