DPT is near victory (NA election update)

Thimphu, March 24: Druk Phuensum Tshogpa is set to form the first government in Bhutan after the first general elections on today.

DPT has secured its positions in 24 constituencies when the results of 27 constituencies have come, our reporters said.

According to the information sent by our reporters, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has secured victory only in three constituencies.

DPT is led by Jigme Y. Thinley and Sangey Ngedup, the royal uncle, leads the PDP. 

The election commission has said results will be announced by late today. Following is the latest results:
