Kathmandu, September 19: Camp Management authorities have said there is an acute shortage in drugs in heath centers in Bhutanese refugee camps.

According to camp Secretary of Beldangi-II Hari Adhikari Bangaley, there are rising complaints from patients each day. Bangaley talking to Bhutan News Service said, “Health management committees claim they have been exerting pressure in AMDA-Birtamode to supply adequate medicines. However, a number of patients who are to take regular medicines are learnt to have deprived from it.” Bangaley further said, “This is entirely due to mismanagement in AMDA-Damak.”

According to the Camp Management Committee member of Beldangi-II Padam Lal Mishra, who works in health section, the drugs to be provided in Beldangi camps on last Friday has not arrived yet.

This year UNHCR has also decreased the quota of referral cases for further treatment outside camps. Bhutan News Service.
