Election momentum goes ahead

Thimphu, July 18: After the announcement of the dates for the National Assembly and National Council elections, the Election Commission has begun training sessions for the staffers to work during the polls.

The commission trained about 376 people recently who will be responsible for the procedural conduct during the elections.

The first target of these trainees will be to prepare ground work in the country for National Council election in December this year.

They, who are called the core group, will go districts to train more officials in the next one and half months. But the election commission said the same people will be dispatched for voters education campaign as well ahead of the elections.

The nationwide seminars on elections in the initiative of the commission will also be held today and tomorrow. Bhutan News Service
