Indian intellectuals concern refugee stalemate

New Delhi, September 2: Intellectuals and media persons of India have sought for permanent solution of Bhutanese refugee stalemate.

They have also urged Bhutan, Nepal and India to work jointly.

The Bhutan solidarity which returned from camp visit said they stressed that India has important role in finding the solution.

They have also claimed if the unimproved situation continues it would be uncontrollable. “The development of recent incidents in camps have shown this indication," leader of the visiting team Suni Lam told journalists in Press Club of India.

They expressed dissatisfaction with India who never paid attention to refugee issue since 16 years. The team has requested the authorities concerned to look on issues related to shortage and cut-short even in basic facilities to refugees. 

Bhutan Solidarity leader Suni Lam, Madhya Pradesh MP and senior journalist Birendra Sengar, Ananda Sworup Burma and Binod Agnihotri, human rights activists Utkarhsa Kumar Sinha and Pramod Kafle were involved in the team. Bhutan News Service.
